The Beginning, 2007

jane & lucy

Taking it back to where it all began! Self-acknowledged design junkies and close friends Jane Rockett & Lucy St George launched Rockett St George in 2007 with an aim to revitalise the homeware market. As such, from early on, they were always on the hunt for unique, quirky and beautiful home interiors that you can’t find on the high street.

After many early Sunday morning car boot sale sessions and a shared love of continually re-decorating and re-arranging furniture, Jane & Lucy found themselves being asked by friends where and how they managed to find the unique treasures that made up their homes. So, when discovering a demand for furniture, lighting and home accessories that introduce personality and tell a story, the idea of Rockett St George was born.

With Jane’s skill in PR and photography and Lucy’s extensive experience in retail, their pairing has built Rockett St George from a kitchen table business to the design destination it is today. Moreover, as mothers of young children at the time, Jane & Lucy’s priority was to provide for their families and be available for the everyday moments of motherhood. From nursery pick-ups to bedtime routines, this is what inspired their entrepreneurial journey, selling homeware online around their existing lives.

2 Years On, 2009

After two years spent working from their kitchen tables, the first RSG premises opened in 2009 and was quickly outgrown. As such, this led to a move to the current home of the brand in Ditchling. Amazingly, this is where the original warehouse and office space has grown from one warehouse to six (and counting) in the past 10 years.

From the very first Rockett St George product to the 3,500 plus products live on the site in 2022, Rockett St George celebrates the importance of creativity, personality and a sense of humour in the home. After moving into their first office, Jane & Lucy could see that the demand for statement homeware was ever-growing, much like their passion for the interiors world.

Fast Forward To 2012

With the founding mission to empower customers with beautiful homeware as important as ever, in 2012 Co-founders Jane & Lucy travelled to India to create their first in-house collection.
Additionally, while meeting with local artisans, they established an ongoing partnership with the supplier responsible for handcrafting many of Rockett St George’s bestselling designs today - including the iconic Palm Tree Floor Lamp.

When designing their own brand pieces for Rockett St George, the aim was always to create one-of-a-kind treasures for the home. As Lucy and Jane loved searching far and wide for dazzling designs, their own brand pieces fast became a hit with their quirky customer base. As such, people quickly realised that Rockett St George was the go-to for all-out eccentric and characterful pieces for the home.

2016-2019

Following their rise in the interiors world has seen the brand’s products in the homes of some of the world’s hottest celebrities, rock stars and royalty. In addition, Rockett St George has partnered with a range of inspiring businesses over the past 15 years, bringing Jane & Lucy’s signature style to iconic locations. Moreover, Jane and Lucy's creativity and love for making every space unique has always been at the forefront of every collaboration.

2019-2022

From packing boxes at the kitchen table to a growing team of 50 people and around 8,000 orders dispatched every month, Jane & Lucy’s impressive journey has seen them step into the spotlight as interior tastemakers that prioritise a personal connection with their loyal customer base.

The Future Of Rockett St George

The events of the last couple of years have proven the importance of our homes as a sanctuary. We aim to continue introducing beautifully unique homeware that makes people smile and can't be found elsewhere. As such, bringing personality to the home, whatever the budget.
