For International Women's Day, we're thrilled to launch a collection of independently designed prints for the #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign.
This year, to celebrate International Women's Day, we launched a fabulous initiative for young artists across the UK. For the #CHANGEAGIRLSLIFE campaign, we collaborated with the Prince's Trust Chairy and invited female artists to create a piece of artwork about what being a woman means to them. As such, with women supporting women being imperative to Rockett St George's ethos, we were thrilled to pick six amazing artists to be a part of this collection. 24-year-old Meig Sutherland is a Fine Art graduate based in Glasgow. Exploring art through both traditional and non-traditional methods, Meig has developed her passion of drawing and painting the human form to create her own unique style. Celebrating the fluidity of line and how we can express emotion through the body, Meig develops her work on the canvas, revealing her unique process within each design. By connecting figures together, she combines a series of poses in her work to capture the varying forms that the body has when in motion.

Meig’s artwork ‘Trust’ explores the idea of leaning on someone and women relying on one another. Finding great comfort among other females, Meig’s artwork looks to capture the unique communication and understanding women have with one another, illustrating through abstract female forms how women support and hold each other up in life.

The Prince’s Trust helps young people all over the UK to build their confidence and skills by supporting them into jobs, education and training. On top of this, their research has found that more than half (57%) of young women said they have lost confidence in themselves as a result of the pandemic. As such, a quatre of young women (25%) feel like they are going to fail in life, compared to 19% of young men. In response to this, The Prince’s Trust Women Supporting Women initiative helps address the challenges young women face. Moreover, Rockett St George is incredibly proud to support the #ChangeAGirlsLife campaign. Even better, the funds raised will help to bring hope and opportunity to young women who have lost confidence in their future, whilst also raising the profile and awareness of six talented young female artists.
