Boho Is Back! Discover The Boho Interior Trend 2024

(Re)discover the Boho trend for 2024

Let your inner creative rejoice – Bohemian is back! If you love to combine rich earth tones like terracotta with deep reds, opulent purples and mesmerising emerald and moss greens, this is a trend you’ll thoroughly embrace.

Boho has moved on from its Noughties roots by incorporating a dash of inspiration from the natural world (think greenery and natural materials like wood, rattan, faux fur or sheepskin), a splash of metallic and super-bold patterns (what’s not to love about a combo of traditional paisley mixed with art deco geometrics?)

Combine any (or all) and you've created a kaleidoscope of true bohemian beauty.

Also integral to pulling off the Boho interiors trend successfully is to make your surroundings as tactile as possible – the more touchy-feely, the better, in fact. It’s a scheme that combines warmth with oodles of character, and what’s even better is that there’s no right or wrong way to ‘do’ the Boho look.

As is so often the case with homeware, the Boho interiors trend feeds off the back of what’s happening in the fashion world, so if your inner Boho chick has been a little quiet these past few months, now’s the time to for her to burst forth, renewed and invigorated.

Go as big and bold as you dare, and rock one of autumn’s biggest trends the Rockett St George way.

Boho Interiors Trend 1: Fringing

The catwalks are awash with fringed capes, boots and leather jackets – all the better to swing your way through autumn! Translated to the home, tasseled lampshades and ceiling lights bring fringing alive, while our Denim & Bone Pink Loved Woven Cotton Throw features fringing as an exquisite finishing detail that adds to the rustic, Boho charm of this piece perfectly. Part of the appeal of Boho is its free and easy aesthetic – there's nothing buttoned up about this trend, which makes it a refreshing contrast to the ‘back to school’ vibe that accompanies autumn every year. The former is flowers in our hair while the latter is sleek and sharp – but hey, there’s room for everything, right? Your home, your rules...

Boho Interiors Trend 2: Graphic Prints

Cocktails, cacti, cowboy boots and celestial bodies...these Western-style collages have it all. This collection of vibrant prints combines a Boho vibe with a traditional Wild West landscape, characterised by expansive vistas and wide-open spaces, and warm, rich, tones that enliven the traditional Boho colour palette perfectly. Create a gallery wall, or use as focal points in your kitchen, living room or hallway. Unique and bursting with character, these are prints that invite you to embrace the adventurous spirit of the Wild West, while infusing your space with undeniable Boho vibes to create a home that feels truly wild at heart.

Boho Interiors Trend 3: Mexicana

Add a touch of Boho-chic to your home by bringing the outside in. The natural dried grass used to weave these beautiful baskets evokes a rustic charm, bringing warmth and texture to your space, and adds a beautifully earthy vibe to your home which is pure Boho. Similarly, bold abstract patterns, which take us on a whistlestop tour of the world from Mexico to Marrakech - strike the perfect balance between trend and tradition while adding a wonderfully Boho feel. Add to your home in myriad ways, from footstools to tableware, and be as bold or as subtle as you prefer.

Boho Interiors Trend 4: Sheepskin / Natural Hide

Combining natural materials, such as wool, with faux animal hides, is an inspired way to welcome the cooler seasons, and can add calming neutral accents to Boho patterns or maximalist craziness. They’re a great way to add warmth and texture to a room, too, whether you style a sheepskin rug over an exposed wooden floor, on a rustic kitchen bench or drape it over the back of a chair.

Boho Interiors Trend 5: Natural wood

Earthy tones are a classic staple of the Boho look, and there’s no more authentic way to bring these into your home than with natural wood. Whether you introduce wooden furniture, like a kitchen table or hallway console, or choose accent pieces, such as a rattan lamp or armchair, there’s something especially grounding about using natural materials that promotes a feeling of stability and a connection with nature. There’s a timeless appeal that allows these pieces to work with any interiors style, giving them both versatility and longevity, too. Layer different shades and types of natural wood to create a textured, tactile appeal that infuses your surroundings with true Boho snuggliness to create a space you can enjoy at any time of day.
